Kicks with Nick

2014 Fall Referee Training

Kicks with Nick consists of two mini clinics (one session is free; second session is paid) and are held by competitive coaching staff for recreational players wanting to improve their skills. Sessions are held each spring and fall at Swope Soccer Village.

BSC’s Executive Director Nick Garcia brings his soccer expertise and his experience of 11 seasons in the MLS to Kansas City’s youth in a truly special opportunity.

Referee Class

Approximately 40 new and 25 returning Brookside Soccer Club referees attended a training class on August 9th at UMKC. Beginner and veteran referees attended BSC’s Referee Training Clinic on the rules and regulations specific to competitive youth soccer prior to the start of BSC’s Fall 2014 Recreational League. Beginning referees must attend the meeting and pass the referee course test in order to qualify to shadow as a BSC referee.

2014 Summer Skills Camp

2014 Mini Stars

Our Summer Skills Camp was a four-day camp that focused on individual balls skills. The main focus was on ball control and practiced various foot skills to help the campers to increase their confidence with the ball.

Mason Kastel (center) is holding a Sporting Kansas City soccer ball signed by the 2013 MLS championship team. Mason won the soccer ball when his name was drawn from among the participants of the Summer Skills Camp.

Brookside Soccer Club’s summer Mini Stars camp is a condensed introduction to soccer for ages 2-5. The primary focus of this camp was on ball control, balance, coordination, and most of all, having fun!
